Centered in the thorax, the right pulmonary artery is traced from its origin at the pulmonary trunk toward the right hilum, where it courses with the right main bronchus and divides into lobar and segmental branches. The posterior basal segmental artery (A10) is carried inferiorly into the lower lobe, running posterior and slightly lateral to the lower lobe bronchus before entering the posterior basal bronchopulmonary segment.
