Description
Thoracic vertebral arches form the posterior boundary of the vertebral canal, and this lateral view isolates the pedicles and laminae that bridge between the vertebral body anteriorly and the posterior elements. Each pedicle projects posteriorly from the vertebral body to create the lateral wall of the vertebral foramen, while the laminae extend posteromedially to meet in the midline and complete the bony roof over the canal. The junction of pedicle and lamina defines the pars interarticularis region and lies immediately posterior to the vertebral body and intervertebral disc space. A rigid ring.
