Description
Centered in the female pelvis, the uterus is rendered from fundus to cervix, with the uterine body tapering inferiorly through the isthmus into the cervical canal. Laterally, each uterine cornu gives rise to a fallopian tube that courses within the broad ligament toward the ovary, widening from isthmus to ampulla before narrowing again at the infundibulum and fimbriae adjacent to the ovarian surface. As the sequence progresses, the camera tracks along the tubal course and reorients to clarify anterior and posterior uterine surfaces while keeping the ovaries positioned posterolateral to the uterus. Tubal anatomy matters when you are explaining where fertilization usually occurs and why ectopic pregnancy most often implants in the ampulla, and it also frames the typical spread of pelvic inflammatory disease from cervix to endometrium and salpinges. Motion adds clarity. By moving from the uterine fundus into the cervix and then laterally into the tubes, the animation makes the continuity of the endometrial cavity, tubal lumen, and ovarian relationship easier to grasp than a single plate, a point that directly supports counseling around salpingectomy, tubal ligation, and risk reduction for high grade serous carcinoma.
