Description
Beginning at the cranial vault, the animation tracks the central nervous system from the cerebrum and brainstem into the spinal cord as it descends within the vertebral canal, then branches laterally into paired spinal nerves that form the cervical, brachial, lumbar, and sacral plexuses. Cranial nerves emerge from the ventral brainstem to course through the face and neck, while segmental spinal nerve roots exit through the intervertebral foramina and continue as mixed peripheral nerves along the trunk and into the limbs. As the sequence progresses head-to-toe, major pathways are kept in anatomical position, with medial neuroaxis structures giving rise to progressively more distal peripheral branches toward the shoulder girdle, upper extremity, pelvis, and lower extremity. A full-body neural map. Clinical teaching benefits from seeing continuity: brain to spinal cord, spinal cord to nerve root, nerve root to plexus, and plexus to named peripheral nerves.
