Sweeping across the epicardial surface, the animation traces the left main coronary artery emerging from the left aortic sinus and dividing into the left anterior descending artery in the anterior interventricular sulcus and the circumflex artery coursing leftward in the atrioventricular groove. Diagonal branches angle anterolaterally over the left ventricle, while septal perforators dive posteriorly into the interventricular septum toward the His Purkinje system. On the right, the right coronary artery arises from the right aortic sinus, runs in the right atrioventricular groove between right atrium and right ventricle, and gives off acute marginal branches along the inferior (diaphragmatic) border.
