The calcaneus and talus form the hindfoot posteriorly, while the navicular lies anterior to the talar head and leads into the cuneiform row; the cuboid and lateral metatarsals fall more lateral and plantar in the same bony chain. Blue articular cartilage marks the joint surfaces, including the cuneonavicular interface and the tarsometatarsal surfaces, clarifying how the intermediate cuneiform aligns with the second ray.
