Inferiorly, the mandible is outlined along its lower border, with the ramus rising posteriorly to the temporomandibular joint where the mandibular condyle sits beneath the temporal bone at the articular eminence. Along the neck, the sternocleidomastoid runs obliquely from the mastoid process anteroinferiorly toward the manubrium and medial clavicle, while the trapezius forms a posterior-lateral sheet over the cervical region and superior thorax. Portions of the deltoid cap the lateral shoulder, and upper fibers of latissimus dorsi may be appreciated posteroinferiorly. A clear surface anatomy map.
