Description
Posterior anatomy of an adult male places the triceps brachii in clear relief along the back of the arm, spanning from the infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula (long head) and the posterior humeral shaft (lateral and medial heads) to a common tendon inserting on the olecranon of the ulna. The long head lies medial and slightly proximal, forming part of the posterior axillary fold as it runs inferiorly between teres minor and teres major, while the lateral head occupies the posterolateral arm and the medial head sits deeper, emerging distally near the elbow. Superficially, the triceps contours relate to the deltoid superiorly and the anconeus posterolaterally at the elbow. Clear landmarks.
