Posteriorly oriented laryngeal anatomy is centered on the epiglottic cartilage and the aryepiglottic fold, with the thyroepiglottic muscle presented as fine longitudinal fibers coursing superiorly from the inner surface of the thyroid cartilage toward the lateral margin of the epiglottis.
