Superficial and deep palmar ligaments are rendered in white over the carpal bones, including the flexor retinaculum (transverse carpal ligament) running transversely from the radial side (scaphoid tubercle and trapezium) to the ulnar side (pisiform and hook of hamate), and the palmar radiocarpal and ulnocarpal ligament complexes converging distally toward the proximal carpal row.
