Description
A semi-transparent female figure is shown in three-quarter lateral orientation, hands resting on the hip and lower back, with the pelvic contents rendered opaque within a cutaway. The uterus is sectioned to expose the amniotic cavity, in which a fetus of approximately ten weeks' gestation lies curled, connected by a short umbilical cord to the developing placental site on the uterine wall. Surrounding pelvic anatomy is preserved in correct spatial relation: the urinary bladder anteroinferior to the uterus, the vagina and cervix inferiorly, the rectum posteriorly against the sacrum, and an ovary with its fallopian tube lateral to the uterine fundus.
