Superior Aspect of the Superior Segmental Bronchus of the Right Lung

Viewed from a superior perspective, the superior segmental bronchus of the right lung (B6) is seen branching from the right lower lobar bronchus and directing posteriorly and laterally toward the apical portion of the lower lobe. Its lumen sits inferior to the origin of the right upper lobar bronchus and posterior to the bronchus intermedius, reflecting the typical right-sided bronchial arrangement. Segmental branching patterns may be suggested at its distal end as it courses toward the superior (apical) segment of the lower lobe. Orientation matters.
