Description
Sectioned seminal vesicle lobules form a tightly folded labyrinth of mucosa within a thin fibroelastic wall, the glandular lumen subdivided into irregular compartments by branching septa. Prominent plicae project into the lumen, so the mucosal surface area reads as dense, leaf-like fronds rather than a smooth cavity. Laterally, the lobules blend into connective tissue that carries small vessels and autonomic nerves; medially, the ductal channels converge toward the excretory duct that will join the ductus deferens to form the ejaculatory duct. For teaching male pelvic anatomy, this cut surface clarifies why the seminal vesicle is described as a highly convoluted tubular gland rather than a simple sac.
