Description
Presented as a lateral section through the male cranium, the cerebellum sits posterior and inferior to the cerebrum, tucked into the posterior cranial fossa beneath the tentorium cerebelli. Folia radiate around central cerebellar white matter, and the arbor vitae branches toward the cerebellar cortex, with the vermis positioned on the midline between the hemispheres. Anteriorly, the cerebellum relates to the fourth ventricle and dorsal brainstem, with the pons and medulla lying ventral to the cerebellar parenchyma. The flocculonodular lobe occupies the anteroinferior cerebellum near the cerebellopontine angle, close to the vestibular connections of the brainstem.
