Description
Posteriorly, an adult female trunk is rendered with semi-transparent integument so the vertebral column can be followed from the occipitoatlantal region through the cervical vertebrae, thoracic vertebrae with their spinous processes, the lumbar vertebrae, and into the sacrum at the inferior midline. The spinal canal is implied by the stacked vertebral foramina, while the spinous processes form a clear posterior median landmark line. Cervical lordosis transitions into thoracic kyphosis, then lumbar lordosis, giving an immediate read on alignment from superior to inferior and from midline to either paraspinal side. Little else competes for attention. The back view keeps the column central. That posterior oblique orientation matters when you are teaching or documenting sagittal plane curves and coronal balance, because clinicians and patients usually perceive posture from behind. Scoliosis screening, rib hump correlation (thoracic rotation), and common pain generators such as facet arthropathy at L4 to L5 and L5 to S1 all map cleanly onto the posterior bony landmarks presented here.
