Description
Frontal anatomy of the female skull is rendered in anatomical position, centering the neurocranium and viscerocranium with the frontal bone superiorly, paired orbits laterally, and the nasal bones in the midline above the maxillae. Inferior to the maxilla, the mandible forms the lower facial contour with the dental arches and teeth visible, and its rami ascend posterolaterally toward the temporomandibular joints. Continuing caudally, the cervical vertebrae stack in the midline with intervertebral disc spaces between bodies, while the clavicles span laterally to the acromial region and the upper ribs curve anterolaterally from the thoracic spine toward the sternum; the scapulae are only partially suggested posterior to the rib cage. An anterior skull view like this is the workhorse for teaching bony landmarks used in trauma assessment and cross sectional imaging correlation: the orbital rims, nasal bridge, maxillary alveolus, and mandibular body are common fracture sites after facial impact. Dentition and mandibular position also support discussion of temporomandibular joint disorders, malocclusion, and the osseous boundaries relevant to inferior alveolar nerve block technique. The cervical vertebrae add context for whiplash mechanics and alignment checks on lateral and anteroposterior radiographs. Use this asset for undergraduate head and neck anatomy labs, dental and maxillofacial teaching files, radiology orientation pages, and publishing projects that need a clean, labeled base for craniofacial proportions or bony landmark callouts. It also fits emergency medicine and trauma education when paired with facial fracture patterns and cervical spine precautions. Anatomical accuracy verified by SciePro's Medical Advisory Board.
