Description
Centered within an obese adult male habitus, the paired kidneys sit retroperitoneally on either side of the vertebral column, the right kidney positioned slightly inferior to the left beneath the costal margin. From each renal hilum, the ureters descend inferiorly and medially along the posterior abdominal wall toward the pelvis, where they enter the urinary bladder at its posterolateral angles.
