Description
Centered on the posterior thigh, the biceps femoris (caput longum) is highlighted along the lateral hamstring compartment in a female figure, extending from the ischial tuberosity superiorly to the fibular head distally. Medial to it run semitendinosus and semimembranosus, while the gluteus maximus sits proximal and posterior over the hip, blending into the iliotibial tract laterally. Tendinous portions appear pale at the proximal origin and at the lateral knee insertion, with surrounding posterior trunk musculature (including trapezius and latissimus dorsi) providing orientation for lumbopelvic alignment.
