Description
Centered in a transparent male head context, the mandible (dentary) is presented from the anterior aspect with the U-shaped body curving laterally toward the right and left angles (anguli mandibulae) before ascending as the rami. At the midline, the symphysis menti and mental protuberance form the chin prominence, while the alveolar part supports the mandibular dentition, from central incisors through molars, in a symmetric arcade. Superiorly, each ramus terminates in the coronoid process anteromedially and the mandibular condyle posterolaterally, separated by the mandibular notch.
