Centered in the mid-thoracic spine, the ninth thoracic vertebra (T9) is highlighted against adjacent thoracic vertebrae in a posterior view. The long, slender spinous process projects inferiorly in the midline from the junction of the laminae, while paired transverse processes extend laterally from the vertebral arch.
