Description
Pars interarticularis (the cervical articular pillar) is centered in this posterior view of a cervical vertebra, bridging the superior articular process above to the inferior articular process below. Lateral to the midline spinous process and lamina, the pillar forms the bony column that frames the posterior aspect of the zygapophysial (facet) joint, with the facet surfaces angled in an oblique plane relative to the sagittal midline.
