Description
Anterior cervical anatomy is centered on the bilobed thyroid gland in a female child, with right and left lobes wrapping the anterolateral surface of the upper trachea and joined across the midline by the isthmus. Superiorly, the gland approaches the laryngeal framework (thyroid and cricoid cartilages), while its inferior poles descend toward the suprasternal region.
