Overlayed vascular maps trace the arterial and venous networks of the male foot from the distal leg into the toes, following the anterior and posterior tibial vessels as they pass the ankle and reorganize into dorsalis pedis on the dorsum and the posterior tibial artery within the tarsal tunnel. As the sequence progresses, the dorsalis pedis gives off the arcuate artery and dorsal metatarsal arteries running distally toward the digital branches, while the posterior tibial divides into the medial and lateral plantar arteries forming the plantar arch deep to the plantar aponeurosis and adjacent intrinsic muscles. Superficial venous return is layered in over the dorsal venous arch and along the medial and lateral margins toward the great and small saphenous pathways, with perforating connections implied between dorsal and plantar systems. Flow direction is clear. Pedal vascular anatomy is where physical exam, imaging, and limb salvage decisions meet. Palpating the dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial pulses, interpreting a reduced ankle brachial index, or planning revascularization for peripheral arterial disease all depend on knowing which segments supply the forefoot and toes and where collateral channels can, or cannot, compensate. Animated progression adds what static plates miss, namely how the plantar circulation sits deeper and more protected than the dorsal system, and how the metatarsal and digital branches narrow distally, the same territory threatened first in diabetic foot ischemia and small vessel disease. Use it to support gross anatomy and podiatry lectures on the ankle and foot, to illustrate CT angiography or Doppler ultrasound reports in vascular surgery and interventional radiology teaching files, or to clarify flap planning and incision risk zones in forefoot procedures.
