Description
Beginning with an adult male body outline, the animation layers in the cardiovascular system in situ, placing the heart within the middle mediastinum posterior to the sternum and anterior to the vertebral column, flanked laterally by the lungs. The great vessels emerge in sequence: the ascending aorta and aortic arch sweep superiorly and leftward, while the pulmonary trunk bifurcates anterior to the left main bronchus into right and left pulmonary arteries. Venous return is traced from the superior and inferior venae cavae entering the right atrium, with peripheral veins and systemic arteries branching distally through the neck, upper limbs, abdomen, and lower limbs in anatomically consistent trajectories. Flow is animated. Cardiac pumping is presented as a timed cycle, so you can follow blood from the right atrium and ventricle through the pulmonary circulation, then back to the left atrium and ventricle before ejection into the aorta and systemic arterial tree; the sequential motion clarifies directional valves and pressure-driven flow far better than a static diagram. Coronary perfusion is typically easiest to interpret in motion, and the animation supports teaching coronary artery disease by relating the heart’s surface vessels to the myocardium they supply.
