Centered within the male thorax, the animation places the heart in situ in the middle mediastinum, posterior to the sternum and costal cartilages and anterior to the esophagus and thoracic vertebral bodies. As the camera moves from a body-level overview toward the pericardial sac, the right atrium and right ventricle come into anterior prominence, while the left atrium sits more posterior and the left ventricle forms the left lateral and inferior cardiac border. Superiorly, the sequence tracks the great vessels as they exit and enter the base of the heart: the ascending aorta and pulmonary trunk anteriorly, and the superior vena cava and pulmonary veins more posteriorly. Orientation is explicit. The myocardium and chamber contours remain the visual anchor as surrounding thoracic landmarks slide relative to the cardiac silhouette. Spatial context matters when teaching surface projection and when explaining why symptoms do not always localize where patients expect.
