Clear Rendering of the Posterior Vein of the Right Lung

Centered in the thorax, the heart sits between the right and left lungs, with the trachea descending superiorly before bifurcating into the main bronchi. Within the right lung, the posterior pulmonary vein is traced in blue along the posterior aspect of the hilum, collecting venous tributaries from the posterior segments and converging toward the right pulmonary venous ostium at the left atrium. Red pulmonary arteries accompany the bronchial tree more closely, while the venous channels run more intersegmentally, crossing behind or between bronchopulmonary segments as they course medially. Spatially, the highlighted vessel lies posterior to the right main bronchus at the root of the lung, then turns medially toward the heart.
