Arterial and venous pathways of the male head and upper thorax are rendered in a left lateral (profile) view, with the common carotid artery ascending in the anterolateral neck and dividing superiorly into the internal carotid artery (passing deep toward the cranial base) and the external carotid artery with its more superficial branches across the face and scalp. Venous return tracks in parallel, with the internal jugular vein running lateral to the carotid sheath structures and receiving tributaries from the face and cranial cavity before joining the brachiocephalic vein in the superior mediastinum. Along the lower field, the proximal great vessels of the upper chest are suggested as they transition toward the heart, framing the cervical circulation without distracting skeletal or visceral detail. Color coding distinguishes arteries (red) from veins (blue) for rapid orientation.
