Presented in right lateral aspect, the male cranium is rendered with the frontal, parietal, temporal, sphenoid, zygomatic, maxilla, and occipital bones in clear profile, while the coronal, squamous, and lambdoid sutures define their articulations. Anteriorly, the orbital rim and piriform aperture border the facial skeleton, with the zygomatic arch sweeping posterolaterally to the temporal bone. Along the cranial base, the stylomastoid foramen lies posterior to the styloid process and anterior to the mastoid process, and the jugular foramen sits more medially at the petro-occipital junction. Teeth and the mandibular body and ramus align inferior to the maxilla, framing the temporomandibular region. Right lateral skull views matter when you need to teach or plan around surface landmarks that map directly to deep neurovascular anatomy. The stylomastoid foramen transmits the facial nerve (CN VII) after it exits the temporal bone, so its relationship to the mastoid tip and external acoustic meatus is central when discussing mastoidectomy corridors and the risk of iatrogenic facial palsy.
