Seen in lateral profile, the lower thoracic vertebral column transitions toward the lumbar region, with T11 highlighted in blue against adjacent vertebrae and the intervening intervertebral discs. The T11 vertebral body sits anterior to the vertebral foramen, while the laminae and spinous process project posteriorly to complete the vertebral arch. Superiorly and inferiorly, the endplates of T11 articulate with the T10 to T11 and T11 to T12 discs, and the posterior elements align in a gentle thoracolumbar curvature. Facet (zygapophysial) joints stack posterolaterally, guiding motion between levels. A key landmark.
