Oriented in lateral profile, the male ankle and foot are rendered with the vascular pathways draped over the lateral malleolus and along the dorsolateral aspect of the foot. Red arterial channels descend into the region as the anterior tibial artery continues as the dorsalis pedis artery on the dorsum, while the fibular (peroneal) artery contributes lateral calcaneal branches that course posterior and inferior to the malleolus toward the heel.
