Medial exposure of the right foot and distal leg brings the tibia into the foreground, with the talus seated superior to the calcaneus and the navicular and cuneiforms stacked along the medial longitudinal arch. The posterior tibial artery courses posterior to the medial malleolus and continues onto the plantar aspect as the medial and lateral plantar arteries, while the dorsalis pedis artery on the dorsum contributes via the deep plantar branch to the plantar arterial arch beneath the metatarsal bases. Small arterioles track distally toward the hallux and medial forefoot, running in close apposition to the tarsus and first metatarsal. Veins accompany the arteries in the usual paired pattern.
