Description
Presented in lateral profile, the right maxillary third molar (M3) is isolated in blue within the posterior maxillary arch, with the second molar immediately mesial and the maxillary tuberosity distal to the crown. Semi-transparent rendering of the maxilla reveals the maxillary sinus (antrum of Highmore) superior to the molar roots, clarifying the close relationship between the sinus floor and the apices. Root morphology is shown with the common pattern of fused roots and a distal inclination of the radicular complex, while the crown contour remains aligned to the occlusal plane of the posterior dentition. That proximity to the maxillary sinus is the clinical story.
