Description
Arising as a terminal continuation of the subscapular artery, the thoracodorsal artery is traced on a posterior male torso as it descends along the lateral border of the scapula toward the axilla and posterior thoracic wall. From this back view, the scapular spine and medial border frame the course of the vessel, while the proximal humerus and rib cage provide bony landmarks for orientation. Segmental branching is shown as arteriolar ramifications spreading into the posterolateral thorax and toward the latissimus dorsi territory.
