Anteriorly, the superficial epigastric vein is traced within the superficial fascia of the lower anterior abdominal wall, ascending from the groin region toward the infraumbilical midline. Inferiorly it converges toward the saphenofemoral junction, where it typically drains into the femoral vein through the great saphenous vein, lying superficial to the femoral vessels and anterior to the pubic region. The course is presented in relation to the rib cage superiorly and the pelvic ring inferiorly, providing bony landmarks for orientation. A superficial vessel with deep consequences. Because the superficial epigastric vein is a consistent tributary at the groin, this anterior view supports teaching of the venous crossroads at the femoral triangle and the anatomy encountered during groin incisions.
