Description
Posteriorly oriented thoracic anatomy centers on the left pulmonary arterial tree, highlighting the superior segmental artery (A6) as it courses laterally from the left pulmonary artery and ascends to the superior segment of the lower lobe. Nearby, the left main bronchus and its lobar and segmental branches track alongside the vessels, with smaller arterioles following the bronchial branching pattern toward the peripheral parenchyma. Superior and medial in the field, the heart anchors the scene, while the pulmonary veins return toward the left atrium in a more anterior and inferior plane relative to the segmental arteries.
