Prominent in the proximal hand and wrist, the dorsal ulnocarpal ligament is rendered as a stout ligamentous band arising from the distal ulna and coursing distally toward the ulnar-sided carpal row, with its fibers spanning toward the triquetrum and adjacent ulnocarpal capsule. Deep to it lie the distal radioulnar joint region and ulnar head, while the carpal bones sit distal to the ulna and the metacarpals and phalanges extend further distally in anatomical position.
