The talar head sits superior to this fibrocartilaginous band, while the cuboid and lateral column lie more laterally and the metatarsals extend distally toward the phalanges. Adjacent stabilizers such as the long plantar ligament and portions of the plantar fascia are logically appreciable in the same plane, with tendinous structures coursing longitudinally toward the forefoot. Orientation is clear.
