Description
Centered within the mediastinum, the semi transparent cardiac silhouette reveals the myocardium encasing the right and left atria superiorly and the right and left ventricles inferiorly, with the left ventricle forming the left lateral border and the apex pointing inferolaterally. Across the epicardial surface, the coronary arteries course in the atrioventricular and interventricular grooves, with the right coronary artery tracking along the right margin and the left main dividing into the anterior interventricular (left anterior descending) and circumflex branches. Superiorly, the aorta arises from the left ventricular outflow tract, with the pulmonary trunk positioned anteriorly, consistent with normal great vessel relationships.
