Description
Presented in standard anatomical position, an adult female body is rendered with the superficial skeletal musculature exposed from head to foot, with white fascial seams separating major muscle groups. Superiorly, the temporalis and masseter frame the lateral skull and the sternocleidomastoid runs obliquely from the mastoid process to the manubrium and medial clavicle. Across the shoulder girdle and thorax, the deltoid caps the glenohumeral region lateral to pectoralis major, while rectus abdominis occupies the anterior midline of the abdominal wall with the external oblique flanking it laterally. Distally, biceps brachii sits anterior to triceps brachii in the arm, the quadriceps femoris dominates the anterior thigh, and gastrocnemius overlies soleus on the posterior calf. Myology students often learn origins and insertions in isolation, but a full-body anterior exposure clarifies functional chains and surface landmarks, including how the deltopectoral interval relates to cephalic vein access and how the rectus abdominis intersects with the linea alba and tendinous intersections used as midline reference points. Clear separation of muscle bellies and fascial boundaries also supports teaching of compartment-based pain patterns, such as exertional compartment syndrome in the leg, where fascial constraints matter as much as the muscle itself.
