Description
Seen from the posterior (dorsal) aspect of the male hand, the dorsal digital veins run superficially along the dorsolateral margins of each digit, beginning near the nail beds and coursing proximally across the phalanges toward the metacarpophalangeal joints. These channels converge into the dorsal metacarpal veins overlying the metacarpals, with the underlying phalanges, metacarpals, and proximal carpal bones rendered for bony orientation. Radial and ulnar arterial contributions are shown deeper and more centrally, giving clear dorsal topography against the skeletal framework. Bone landmarks matter here. Dorsal venous anatomy of the hand is a daily clinical reference point because the superficial venous network can be both a target and a hazard in access, trauma, and surgery.
