Description
Spanning from the cranial venous sinuses and internal jugular veins to the superior vena cava, the venous network converges centrally on the right atrium, with the heart rendered in red as the receiving pump for systemic venous return. Superficial and deep veins of the upper limb course proximally from the hand and forearm toward the axillary vein and subclavian vein, then into the brachiocephalic veins, while the inferior vena cava ascends on the right side of the vertebral column receiving hepatic veins, renal veins, and the common iliac veins. Distally, the lower limb drainage tracks from the dorsal venous arch through the great saphenous vein to the femoral vein and from the deep calf veins toward the popliteal vein, all passing superiorly into the external iliac vein and then the inferior vena cava. A whole-body female venous map is most useful when you need continuity, how distal tributaries relate to central conduits, where superficial channels parallel deep companions, and why valves and perforator veins matter in the upright human.
