Description
Anterior female gross anatomy is rendered with superficial and selected deep muscles draped over the axial and appendicular skeleton, with major arterial pathways tracked through the limbs and trunk. In the head and neck, facial expression muscles and the sternocleidomastoid sit superficial to the skull and cervical vertebrae, while the common carotid arteries ascend bilaterally toward the angle of the mandible. Across the thorax, pectoralis major spans from sternum and clavicle toward the humerus, breast tissue overlies the anterior chest wall, and the rib cage frames the intercostal spaces; distally, deltoid transitions to biceps brachii and forearm flexor and extensor compartments that converge into tendons at the wrist and digits. Inferiorly, the abdominal wall and pelvic girdle anchor the anterior thigh compartment (including quadriceps femoris) around the femur and knee, with the femoral artery descending into the leg toward the tibial and pedal distributions. A whole-body muscular system plate gains clinical value when it preserves correct muscle massing, tendon paths, and neurovascular corridors across joints. Surface anatomy teaching often hinges on palpable borders such as the deltopectoral groove, the bicipital region, and the quadriceps tendon and patella, and this layout supports that mapping cleanly. Arterial highlighting aligns with common access and injury sites, including carotid pulse assessment in the neck and femoral artery cannulation or hemorrhage control in the groin, where the vessel lies relatively superficial and compressible against the femoral head. Landmarks matter. Use this artwork for undergraduate anatomy and kinesiology courses, atlas-style textbook spreads on the muscular system and major arteries, and patient-education materials that explain tendon-related pain patterns or vascular access routes in a female body habitus.
