Description
Positioned in the right upper quadrant beneath the right hemidiaphragm, the pediatric liver fills the subcostal space and extends medially toward the epigastrium. A semi-profile cutaway reveals the smooth diaphragmatic surface with the right lobe dominating laterally and the left lobe tapering toward the midline, with the inferior margin coursing obliquely toward the costal margin. Anteriorly, the organ sits deep to the anterior abdominal wall and inferior ribs, while its superior surface conforms to the dome of the diaphragm. Scale matters.
