Description

Branches of the external carotid track anteriorly and superiorly across the face and temporal scalp, consistent with the facial, superficial temporal, maxillary, and occipital arteries, while finer arterioles and capillary beds form a dense subcutaneous network over the superficial face. Black linear elements trace paired cranial and cervical nerve routes, running in close proximity to the carotid sheath structures and fanning across the temporal region and cheek. Spatially, the superficial temporal course sits lateral to the zygomatic arch and ascends anterior to the auricle, while deeper cervical vessels remain medial, alongside the pharyngeal and laryngeal framework rendered through the translucent soft tissues. Surface focused vascular mapping matters when you need to correlate pulsation points, flap perfusion, and iatrogenic bleeding risk.
