Sequential rotation brings the anterior sternocostal surface into view, then tracks around to the diaphragmatic (inferior) surface, keeping the right atrium and its auricle on the right and the left ventricle forming the left cardiac border. The animation follows the ascending aorta and pulmonary trunk at the superior aspect, then traces the superior and inferior venae cavae entering the right atrium posteriorly, while the right and left coronary arteries and their major branches course within the coronary sulcus and anterior and posterior interventricular grooves alongside the cardiac veins. Orientation to epicardial coronary anatomy matters when you need to map ischemia to a culprit vessel, plan coronary artery bypass grafting, or teach the arterial territories implicated in anterior (LAD), inferior (PDA from RCA or circumflex), and lateral wall infarcts.
