Description
Shown from the medial aspect of the male upper limb, the brachialis occupies the anterior compartment of the arm deep to the biceps brachii, with its broad belly hugging the distal half of the humeral shaft. Proximally, the deltoid caps the shoulder while the biceps brachii runs superficial and anterior, and posteriorly the triceps brachii forms the extensor mass along the back of the arm. Distally, brachialis narrows to its tendon crossing the elbow anteriorly to insert on the ulnar tuberosity and coronoid process region, lying medial to the radial head and proximal radius as the forearm musculature fans out toward the wrist and hand.
