Medial exposure of the male knee region traces the inferior lateral genicular vein as it courses distally and laterally around the outer aspect of the tibiofemoral joint line. Its venous channel hugs the periarticular soft tissues, running deep to the subcutaneous plane and in close relationship to the lateral tibial condyle and fibular head region, with smaller venules and variant tributaries rendered in lighter blue. Proximally, the vessel turns posterior toward the popliteal fossa, where genicular tributaries commonly converge on the popliteal venous system. Small vessel, crowded neighborhood.
