Seen from a posterior perspective, the eighth thoracic vertebra (T8) is centered within the mid-thoracic spine, with the spinous process projecting posteriorly from the vertebral arch and the laminae converging toward the midline. Superior and inferior articular processes flank the base of the spinous process, their articular facets oriented to favor thoracic rotation while limiting flexion and extension compared with the lumbar region.
