Description
Centered in an anterior (frontal) view, the female skull is presented with the frontal bone superiorly, the paired parietals forming the superolateral calvaria, and the zygomatic bones flanking the orbits laterally. Inferior to the frontal bone, the nasal bones and piriform aperture frame the nasal cavity, while the maxilla forms the anterior hard palate and carries the maxillary dentition along the alveolar process. The mandible is distinguished in blue, showing the body and symphysis menti in the midline with the rami ascending posterolaterally toward the temporomandibular joints, and a short segment of the upper cervical vertebrae sits immediately inferior to the occiput. Bone surface relief is rendered with realistic foramina, margins, and sutural contours. Clean and direct. Clinically, highlighting the mandible against the remainder of the cranium makes this view well suited for teaching mandibular fracture patterns (symphysis, parasymphysis, angle) and how they relate to dental occlusion and the inferior alveolar nerve as it courses to the mental foramen.
