Description

A fetus of approximately 33 weeks gestation lies curled in the uterine cavity, seen at close range so that only part of the body fills the frame. The rounded head, already covered with fine dark hair, occupies the lower field, while the shoulder, flexed thigh, knee and a small foot with clearly separated toes are gathered against the trunk in the characteristic flexed attitude of late gestation.
